i think the reason ppl are getting upset about this is that they said "NEW" creatures, and though they are technically new, they look just like everyother creature we alrdy have.regardless if they are new, they still look old and they are not that big of a deal.im actually shocked at the ppl that are talking about how they are "awesome" cause if you think they are so awesome just go fight some monsters we alrdy have.they all still have the same body type and structure as old monsters, just some new colors, a few more things hanging off of them or in the fleshreavers case, a few less things hanging off of them.

In a way to looks Bio-organic. Semi artificial. I could see it being a minion of the Great Destroyer / Menzies in one way or another. I see similarities (colour and texture wise) with the Shadow Army, and in particular, the Temple of War (flames within in the walls are very similar.
Boy, would i luuuuve a minipet like that.

Obviously I wasn't clear.
The thing that makes artists "feel the urge to strangle someone" is the bitching, complaining, and whining about so many models being nothing but cheap reskins when NONE of them actually are.
If you don't like the designs, fine, but if your eye is so bad that you think these are "recycled skins", then you don't have any right to voice an opinion on this subject at all.
The designers and modelers at Anet are extremely talented, and the new (NEW, dammit!) models are nice, as always.

No one is questioning the talent level of the designers at ANET (I don't think), but these new models ain't new. It doesn't take an artist to see that, though in this case, that's what happened.

The definition of "reskin" is to alter specifically only the bitmap texture of a model without altering its polycount or vertices. Reskinning of a model can be done entirely with a 2d paint program without accessing 3d softwares.
The definition of "remodel" is to alter the 3d object with/without altering the texture, but still recycling it's original rigging. Creating an entirely new set of rigged structure and animation set requires a significant amount of staff reallocation, and considering their current top priority is obviously GW2, the core of their developing team is most likely working on that.
These models are different from their alleged "cousins", which is basically their source rig and bone structures. The differences are just very minor, this is deliberate, as altering the model too much would force them to create a new rig for it, which means new animation, which means significant delay to the development of GW2.
If anyone percieves this as an issue of "understaffing", they are more than welcome to submit a request for "monthly fees" in an effort to assist the quick growth of Anet's developing team.

Nice to see people listening to Rhedd...
they are not RESIKINNED. Their wireframes and animations may be similar, the SKIN is completely different.

You might want to think about what you just said..
Reskinned means that a new skin was made and placed on a old mesh/wireframe and made a new item/creature.
you just pwned yourself ...

People they have shown us 4 New Mobs 3 That most of u say "re-skinned mobs"...And the Underworld -Like Mob.
They r only 4 new mobs? NO!!!!!!!!!! if u compare Proph Factions & NF theres alot of "Reskinned" Mobs but Alot that arent(which theres more "unreskinned").
So,What im trying to say they have only shown 4 new mobs out of over 100.(i guess) if theres alot of re skinned mobs why would they release the art book thing, which most ppl look foward to see in the collectors.
So Respect the art of our Creator or Fool ur unwanted abilities.

Or, you could read what he said. He was talking about statements like yours: (Awesome! Re-skinned Harpies, Wurms, and Forgotten ftw!) It's NOT re-skinning. And if you'd seen any of Rhedd's stuff, you wouldn't be talking.

What you said was re-skinned. With the exception of, perhapse, the Wurm,(think that's just a pick of the Frost Wurm) that's not true. The models have been altered (in the same way they can use the same base for all male/female human classes)
Now if you said the "Reaver was a Harpy re-skinned with no Helmet, chest plate, breasts, loin cloth, leg cloths, sash, added spines & horns" I don't think he'd have a problem.
His point was that people like you can't see ANY difference but the skin. Don't think you really have a place to say HE can't see.

Which is technically not the case here because they are new mesh/wireframe (with the exception of the ice wurm). The difference is very minor, but different none the less.
Even if only 1 polygon is changed, by definition it is NOT reskinned.

Starcraft Hydralisk
Personally the only resemblence to the hydralisk I see is it being serpentine. The Krait is wielding daggers it seems which look kind of like the hydralisk claws but aren't.
They look like the forgotten or the naga with feathery type wing things more than they look like a hydralisk. Hydralisks don't have any snake like facial features and they spit for their attack, these things use opposable thumbs.
